Fears Once there was an eagle who soared upon the wind He came down one day, upon the rock and never went up again He died right there upon the shore for he couldn't fly to feed His fear had overcome, you see overcome his need ---- Letting Go There's this tear that returns from time to time to the corner of my eye A tear of sadness a tear of loss for the life that I once had It's easy to see intellectually why our love did die What's hard to allow is to let the tear drop from the corner of my eye. ----- Turning Off I turned them off so long ago that I can barely see the feelings that so long ago once were a part of me. ------ Bringing Down the House The joker stands on the stage the audience screams with glee In the end, the audience thins but laughter still rings out Laughter of the ages Laughter of the past Laughter and joy and happiness Laughter of grandma's house The team comes in the house has been cleared and hauls the remains away as tears rain down through the joy that once was my grandma's house ----- A Quiet Leisurely Walk The silence of exploding suns A tear-drop in my tea. Mallard ducks diving and preening as the bubbling brook races by. The sound of silence in my thoughts. The peacefulness of goodbye.
